I had a long wait at the dentist’s yesterday (~ 30m) and figured I’d do some quick sketchy stuff. Sorry for the non-pony on this one. That said, I think I need to sit down and do some strict art studies; I’ve pretty much done nothing but doodle for almost 6 months; I even stopped asking for critique on the few things I did post. Not the best way to get better really.

Didn’t have a lot of time so did a quick doodle.

I’m not dead! I’ve been drawing, though not much of it is the kind of stuff I’m sure I want to post. Regardless, have this Apple Bloom as an offering to the Internet art gods.

Finally finished all submissions from the 700+ followers post! First let me apologize for all the errors and simplifications, and particularly for going with the no-pupil eye style in cases where it ends up a bit creepy (sorry Jezendar!). Also, cutie marks were all omitted for simplicity. That said, thanks to all you followers and also the submitters for letting me attempt this!
(Disclaimer: I have not checked if all blogs below are SFW. Browse at your own risk.)
Row 1: brokenthehero, form-phase, jezendar
Row 2: ask-falsafa, ask-passion-painting, Muir
Row 3: forwardbiaspony, trixingno, askfixit
Row 4: asktrailblazer, askmeadowlark, kuroisartpile

As always ambrosesperistylium has done a wonderful job with the color mixing here. I don’t know how many of my followers are familiar with paint mixing, but getting good saturation and mixes that make smooth washes requires excellent color vision, a solid knowledge of pigment behavior, and a good grasp of color dynamics.

Wait, you only have 75 followers? I did not expect that. I thought you would have a LOT more followers.

Having lots of followers requires doing a lot of marketing and reblogging. My goal has been to focus on the art itself and not let the numbers get in the way of having fun doodling ponies and telling short stories.

Plus I’m kind of afraid of success.

Oh my god guys! I can’t express how amazing it is that there are 75 of you masochistic awesome enough to let me clutter up your dashboard with silly scribbles of ponies.
With that said, I thought to myself, hey Forward, why not feed that beast? You guys like pony scribbles, I like scribbling, why not put two and two together and flood the dashboard with ALL the scribble ponies! So I’m taking requests!
Send me a submission with a reference to a pony (or two) you want me to draw, I’ll grab at least the first 10 (more if there’s time and actually more than 10 submissions) and get you your very own little pony scribble! Bonus points for interesting submissions!
Get me your submissions by 11:59 MDT on September 14th and I’ll get some drawn up!
Whether you have me draw something or not though, thanks for watching. It may not seem like much, but it brightens my day to see you guys are enjoying my work. You guys are awesome!

"Three times?"
(( After my friend drew my character for me, I figured I’d give it a shot too. I just wish I could do it in 30 minutes like he did, rather than the 3 hours it took me. Also, I clearly do not have enough experience with the shape and dynamics of skirts. ))

Handprint: Mixing Green

ambrosesperistylium:

Reblogging for future study. Lengthy article on mixing greens in watercolors.

Useful things I’d like to have around, so you get to share in them too.
